Visions was one of the first PeopleSoft Certified Alliance partners in South Africa. Some of our employees have been working with the PeopleSoft product since 1993, beginning with version 5 of the PeopleSoft software suite.
Visions was founded in 1995 but its expansion began in 1997 with the appointment of Tracy Lemon as CEO, who had been jointly responsible for opening the first distributorship in the Southern African market for PeopleSoft in 1993. Tracy’s involvement saw Visions extend beyond the HCM product line into Financials, CRM and Campus Solutions, as well as extending the reach within the HCM community. Stuart Duncan was one of the first employees of the South African PeopleSoft operation. Some of our current employees were involved with the original development of South African localisations to the HCM product line including the Payroll integration to QPac (now UniQue).
When PeopleSoft introduced their Pure Internet Architecture with version 8 of their software the PayConnect product had to be rewritten to accommodate this change. This work was awarded to Visions and we were responsible for converting the existing functionality to the new architecture. In addition, in 1999 Visions were approached by PeopleSoft to design and write a module for South Africa to deal with the pending legislative requirements of Employment Equity. This was no easy task as the legislation had not been finalised but PeopleSoft wanted to be first to market with functionality embedded in the software to comply. Using our joint venture company, Orangeware (Pty) Ltd, we obtained valuable intellectual property to enable us to write the module which is still in use today.
In late 1999 Visions led the evaluation of the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions product for the South African market. Visions has been involved with all the institutions in South Africa who are currently using this world class leading student management software.
Over the years Visions has enjoyed a close working relationship with PeopleSoft and its local distributors, as well as Oracle, since the take-over in 2005. Support and maintenance of the localised PeopleSoft HCM product was exclusively outsourced to Visions until the PeopleSoft acquisition of JD Edwards, when it reverted to PeopleSoft themselves. To demonstrate the vendor’s faith in Visions ability to execute, after the Oracle take over of PeopleSoft Visions were once again exclusively contracted to provide support for the localisations and continue to do so today.
Visions has been involved with over 70% of the installed PeopleSoft customer base within South Africa, completing global PeopleSoft implementations across 4 continents and providing resources to Oracle themselves. Our customer list boasts many blue-chip organisations.
With Visions experience ranging from version 5 to version 9 of the PeopleSoft product, we have been involved in many upgrade projects, successfully developing an Off-site Upgrade Factory which has enjoyed adoption from our customers and Oracle themselves.
Visions are an Oracle Education Partner and provide all PeopleSoft trainers exclusively to Oracle South Africa to deliver vendor training on their behalf. We provide trainers for all PeopleSoft Enterprise Applications and technologies.
